The nonhuman narratives of energy explores animals’ place in the histories and cultures of energy extraction starting off with nineteenth century whaling and move from offshore oil production to animal slaughter, oil spills and road-kill. Informed by feminist and decolonial philosophy, I explore what non-anthropocentric framework means for energy transition and the field of petrocultures.
